5 Top Tips for Weight Loss

Categories: Weight Loss
Tags: Exercise, Diet

From our experience of training many clients, we have learnt the most effective ways to lose weight. Here are our 5 top tips for you.

  • Have a clear goal
  • Prioritise your time
  • Keep to a schedule
  • Plan your meals
  • Take action

Have a clear goal

Always have a clear goal in mind - identify exactly what it is you want to achieve and be very specific about it. Keep it realistic and break up larger goals into smaller manageable goals that are easy to keep track of. Goals don't just have to involve what you see on those scales either! Any lifestyle improvements can be goals: replacing that daily can of Coke with a glass of water, getting to bed that bit earlier to achieve a good night's sleep, or even just sticking to your schedule until it becomes a habit - these are all achievable goals!

Plan your meals

So much weight loss comes from eating better. Planning your meals in advance keeps you from unnecessary snacking or rushed, unhealthy meals. Plan what you want to eat before you go shopping, only buy what you need, and if possible prepare it in advance to minimise those excuses!

Prioritise your time

Make sure you prioritise your workout time. Your workout time needs to be considered sacred or it is vulnerable to being replaced by other activities. Equally, prioritise your meal planning and prepping time as it's so easy to let things falter if you get rushed or go off plan.

Keep to a schedule

Make sure you stick to your workout by scheduling time into your diary. Be prepared and always keep a fresh set of gym clothes on hand so you are ready to go.  If you are someone who struggles with time, try short, high-intensity exercises, such as circuits or tabata. They are so easy to schedule into a day.

Take action

Actually do everything you say you will! It's impossible to get there if don't. Keep motivated and on task and there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make realistic lifestyle changes that can improve your health and wellbeing.
